John Hope Franklin Elementary opened in August 2019 and is named after John Hope Franklin, an activist and author.
Welcome to John Hope Franklin Elementary! This handbook is designed to be your guide to a successful and fulfilling school year. It contains important information about school policies, expectations, and resources. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with its contents. We encourage you to use it as a reference throughout the year. Remember that your teachers, counselors, and the entire school staff are here to support you. We wish you a memorable and successful year!
Being the Change
We are the anchor of Tulsa Public Schools, as the farthest-north school in the district, and we believe that culture is the root and achievement is the fruit. Our theme is to become 1% better every day so we can make incremental change by growing in SEL and in our academics. We are here to be a pillar in our community, positively impacting the lives of our children and families, and to be the change agents in their world and ours. We will be the model of what learning, leading, and change look like as we bridge our students’ dreams to their present and future realities.
